On April 22, the signing ceremony of the industry-university-research cooperation between Sichuan University and Dekon Group was held at the Dekon Industrial Research Institute. This marks the official establishment of a long-term and stable cooperation relationship between the two parties, under which they will collaborate on tackling key technologies in the whole industrial chain of live pigs and yellow-feathered broilers, and systematically advance scientific and technological innovation, talent cultivation, platform co-construction, and achievement transformation. Wang Hongning, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at the College of Life Sciences, Sichuan University, attended the ceremony with her team.
Professor Wang Hongning and her team first visited the Dekon Industrial Research Institute. They gained a detailed understanding of the Institute’s scientific and technological innovation progress in the field of high-quality food, as well as its practical achievements in breeding, nutrition, and health management. They fully affirmed Dekon’s adherence to innovation-driven development and continuous improvement of core industrial competitiveness.
During the signing ceremony and the symposium, the technical director of Dekon Group extended a warm welcome to Professor Wang Hongning and her team, introduced the company’s current R&D status, technological innovation layout, and advancement direction of university-enterprise cooperation projects, and put forward specific ideas for further deepening university-enterprise cooperation. The relevant person in charge reported the two parties’ cooperation plans to jointly tackle key challenges in the pig and broiler industry chains, including disease prevention and control, health monitoring, precision nutrition and biological breeding, and explained the advancement mechanism of subsequent projects.
During the exchange, Academician Wang provided in-depth guidance on key technical issues concerning the high-quality development of the livestock and poultry industry. She stated that to promote the high-quality development of the agriculture, animal husbandry and food industry, it is essential to focus on the green development needs of the whole industry chain, adhere to interdisciplinary integration and whole-industry-chain collaborative innovation, systematically plan the innovation path from basic research to industrial application and from technological breakthrough to achievement transformation, and accelerate the establishment of a systematic innovation system closely aligned with the needs of industrial development. She pointed out that strengthened collaboration between university research teams and leading enterprises is conducive to the deep integration of technological innovation with industrial practice, thereby better serving the implementation of national strategies for food safety and rural revitalization.
During the symposium, the two sides also conducted in-depth exchanges on future cooperation in areas such as technological breakthrough, platform co-construction, talent cultivation and achievement transformation. Both parties agreed that Sichuan University boasts prominent advantages in scientific research, talent and platform resources, while Dekon Group has a solid foundation in whole-industry-chain application scenarios, technology transformation, and practical verification. With a strong basis for cooperation, the two sides will further leverage their respective strengths, strengthen collaboration, and focus on joint efforts to tackle key scientific issues and actual technology needs in industrial development. They will also accelerate the transformation of scientific research achievements, and continue to promote the deep integration of industry, university and research.
This signing marks an important starting point for deepening cooperation between the two parties.
