On December 11, the “Empowering Talent Development · Serving the Development of Agriculture, Rural Areas and Farmers · Advancing Rural Revitalization- Joint Action for New Farmer Cultivation and Launching Ceremony of Dekon’s One Hundred Villages & One Million Pigs Project Training Base” was grandly held in Nanxi District, Yibin. By issuing a joint initiative for new farmer cultivation, the base has established a new collaborative education model integrating governments, enterprises, universities and research institutions. The base injects new momentum into the high-quality development of Yibin’s pig farming industry and rural revitalization from three aspects: talent cultivation, technology demonstration, and industrial empowerment.

To actively respond to the national rural revitalization strategy and promote the modernization transformation of agriculture, Dekon Food and Agriculture Group has built the “One Hundred Villages & One Million Pigs” Project Training Base in Yibin, with an investment of RMB 50 million yuan. As a specialized training platform focusing on pig farming and tailored for family farm owners, the base aims to provide solid talent and industrial support for rural revitalization.

Guided by the principle of “talent cultivation as the core, technology demonstration as the support, and industrial empowerment as the goal”, the base has systematically established a training system integrating “theoretical teaching + hands-on practice + business guidance”. It also promotes an ecological circulation model of “breeding-energy-planting” to realize the planting-breeding combination of pig-manure-fruit and low-carbon operation.

The bases hardware fully aligns with international advanced breeding standards. The base integrates key technologies such as air filtration, AQC precise ventilation, high-efficiency deodorization and intelligent feeding to build demonstrative, hands-on and replicable real-world teaching scenarios. It is expected to train more than 300 breeding technicians annually and help farmers transition toward standardized and intelligent breeding modes.

In recent years, Yibin has regarded the pig farming industry as a key task for enriching its people and strengthening the city, and has innovated the “1-1-1-2-5” investment model to promote intelligent and standardized breeding. The base, once completed, will serves as a crucial talent engine for Yibin to build an influential pig industry cluster in southern Sichuan and even across the country, which holds a milestone significance for promoting the high-quality development of the pig industry in the entire city.

Professor Zhu Li from the College of Animal Science and Technology, Sichuan Agricultural University, stated that the university would rely on the base to deepen university-enterprise integration, open training resources to farmers and students, and provide long-term faculty support. Zhou Xianwei, an instructor at the base, introduced that the training will adopt a “theory + practice” model, covering the entire process from mating and gestation to fattening. Through one-on-one mentoring, standardized process output and intelligent equipment teaching, the base aims to cultivate a new generation of versatile farmers who possess technical expertise, management skills, and operation capabilities.

As batches of new farmers leave this base to work in the fields, they will become the seeds for rural revitalization, and drive more farmers to increase their income and achieve prosperity, writing a new chapter for agricultural quality & efficiency improvement and rural revitalization.
