On January 15, Professor Wang Hongning from Sichuan University led a team to visit the headquarters of Dekon Group. They provided in-depth guidance and exchanged views on topics such as healthy livestock and poultry breeding, bacterial and viral prevention and control, high-quality industrial development, and technological innovation. Yao Hailong, President of Dekon Group, and other senior management attended the symposium.
At the symposium, Yao Hailong, on behalf of the Group, extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to Academician Wang and her team. He then systematically introduced Dekon’s achievements in establishing a high-standard food safety system, implementing the model of “cooperating with farmers and helping farmers”, and making continuous investment in scientific and technological fields such as breeding, nutrition and animal health. He expressed the hope that Dekon would serve as an “experimental base” for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, carry out in-depth cooperation with Academician Wang’s team, and make greater contributions to safeguarding national food safety and promoting rural revitalization.
Professor Wang Hongning fully affirmed Dekon Group’s development strategy and practical achievements, and delivered a keynote report on the industry challenge of “disease prevention and control in pig farms under the context of African swine fever”. She elaborated on the technical approaches for key links including precise disease detection, traceability, immunization, disinfection, medication and purification, and shared the cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence in early warning and prevention and control of animal diseases. She emphasized that scientific and technological innovation is a crucial engine for improving the quality and efficiency of animal husbandry industry and realizing sustainable development. She expressed the hope to strengthen cooperation with leading enterprises like Dekon to jointly promote scientific and technological innovation, align with international standards, and provide solid support for the green transformation, quality improvement and efficiency enhancement of China’s livestock and poultry industry.
During the discussion, relevant technical director of the Group’s Pig Business Division delivered a detailed report to Academician Wang on Dekon’s technical operation model, core competitiveness, qualification development, and progress of scientific research projects. The report highlighted Dekon’s research achievements in the three-level laboratory system for health monitoring and early warning, R&D platform for diagnostic methods, biosafety system construction, and a number of research projects.
In the final part, the two sides conducted pragmatic discussions on future cooperation in areas such as technological breakthroughs, project applications, platform co-construction and talent cultivation. They will jointly explore new paths for industry-university-research integration to help China’s agriculture, animal husbandry and food industry move towards a new stage of high-quality and sustainable development.
